There are times in every human – animal relationship when the behaviour of the animal is not what the human would desire. How these behaviours are dealt with can strengthen the relationship or damage it. Emma specialises in behaviour modification that is both kind and effective utilising positive training techniques and a holistic approach.
Emma is a qualified equine behaviourist and provides consultations in the Leicestershire area and surrounding counties.
During a behaviour modification appointment, we will consider potential influences on your horse’s behaviour, including their access to free movement, appropriate nutrition, social interaction, their physical and mental wellbeing and your relationship. A positive and gentle program of behaviour modification based on scientifically valid techniques will then be applied to ensure safe, effective behavioural change.
What behaviours can a behavioural therapy session help with?
- Phobias for example fear of the farrier, clippers, loading or mounting.
- Anxious behaviour
- Handling problems
- Ridden issues such as bucking, napping and rearing
- Stereotypic behaviours: Weaving and windsucking
- Aggression
- Any behaviours that you feel negatively impact your relationship with your horse
